Meet Our Founder
Maret Seitz (pronounced “Mare-it Sites”) is a rare hybrid talent, who thrives at the intersection of business strategy, creative storytelling and style. She leads with integrity, emotional intelligence and commercial fluency.
Maret is a creative executive who generated significant total contract revenue, closed record-breaking contracts and earned the highest honors for excellence in business development for Compass Group, a global Fortune 500 company.
While at Compass, she exceeded expectations and goals from 2x to 14x her annual revenue quota. She drove the strategic and creative vision, presentation and execution for critical, high-end enterprise pursuits – successfully leading, winning and closing six, seven, eight and nine figure contracts on behalf of the organization.
She was honored with The Globe (the highest honor for excellence in business development from Compass Group North America), with the President's Award for exemplary performance and contribution to the business (personally selected by the CEO), and with multiple Sales Excellence Awards. In late 2024, Maret chose to resign from her corporate career to launch her entrepreneurial vision, a new career endeavor which ultimately became THOROUGHBRED.
She holds a BA from Davidson College (in Theatre), an MBA from Wake Forest University School of Business and post-graduate certifications in Project Management, Strategic Analysis and Decision Making and Design Thinking for Innovative Problem Solving from Wake Forest University School of Business. Her additional post-graduate coursework includes The Pratt Institute School of Design and Yale University.
A Pittsburgh native, Maret currently lives in Charlotte, NC with her standard, long-haired dachshund named, Apple.
Our Legacy Experience
The foundation of THOROUGHBRED (TB) was built from years of hands-on experience from professional theatre stages to MBA classrooms to corporate global Fortune 500 organizations.
Before founding TB, Seitz led and directed the strategic, sales and storytelling vision, presentation and execution for critical enterprise pursuits, for Compass Group, a Global Fortune 500 company. Additionally, she served as one of four founding team members responsible for launching its Value Pricing and Analytics team.
Prior to her decade-long corporate business career, Seitz worked as a professional actor, appearing on stage in more than 250 professional performances for audiences ranging from 10 to 10,000. She trained in classical voice and opened several professional and collegiate sporting events with The National Anthem.
